KCAI Graphic Design Department Branding
I was chosen by the instructors at the Kansas City Art Institute to brand the graphic design department in order to showcase the multiple facets and disciplines that make up and are celebrated in the program. This branding system relies on collage to emphasize the juxtaposition of the old and the new. With the Institute having deep roots in the community, it was important to showcase the long standing history and use those styles to inform the rest of the system. By introducing bright colors, mixed imagery and shape, I was able to pull out more of the fun and playful side of the culture at Kansas City Art Institute.
